Less than 2 Weeks until EQUUS!
If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, get them before it’s too late! EQUUS is coming up soon. Buy yours here.
We have only one playdate before EQUUS so if you’d like to come out to train or socialize, come on out! Please note that we are having filmmakers at the August playdate, so if you do not want to be on camera, exercise caution. There is more information about the filming in our last blog post.
Hope to see you at EQUUS! It’s going to be a fabulous time!
Important Announcement for our August Playdate
We are filming with Jon Roberts of Barcroft Media at our next Play Date, Saturday, August 4th. We get frequent inquiries about our club from prospective film makers, but rarely take offers. Taking offers requires a lot of thorough vetting (pun intended) to ensure the safety of those in our club. Our club exists primarily to have fun, educate, and provide safe spaces for people to play in (see our Mission Statement), and so, we are wary of film makers who might exploit us or put our unique activities on display in a mocking way.
We are happy to report that Joe and Barcroft Media has passed our test and we have welcomed him to come and learn about what we do and why we do it. (This is not the first time we have allowed this; Weird Threads covered one of our fox hunts, and Playboy visited us after DomCon for one of our Play Dates.)
We are receiving $500 towards our Club Activity Funds. Please participate and show your support!
Wear masks /hoods if you do not want your face on camera!
We have some to borrow. As always, never assume no one is taking your photo image. We will try to secure a “safe space” to hang and chat without worry of media presence and will provide colored wristbands to those who do NOT want to be on camera, but if you are very private, please be aware of the presence of cameras at our next Plate Date.
To any Ponies, or other clubs/organizations reading this: Yes, when media contacts you to film your kink or your fetish, they are doing so to make a viable product to sell to make a living off of. There is nothing wrong with this, but be sure to do your research and do your due diligence in ensuring you will be portrayed as you want to be portrayed. Ask for something for your club as compensation. You deserve epic treatment and utmost respect!
Gear Spotted!
Recently we discovered something cool making the rounds on FaceBook…
Made by Costume Chaos, these are some really cool-looking paws and hooves! But remember, you don’t need expensive gear or fancy shoes to be a pony or critter. Being a pony, puppy, or other critter comes from the heart! Still, you have to admit, those are some REALLY neat shoes!
Pony play is for everyone.
…even superheroes! Or… supervillains? Whatever Deadpool is, anyway.
Ponyplay comes in all shapes and sizes; whether you’re a Shetland pony, a mightly Clyesdale, a mythical unicorn, or secretly Deadpool, we welcome you!

The Pony Who Started It All!
The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club has been around for close to a decade (we were covered in LA Weekly back in 2010!) and our success wouldn’t have been possible without subMissAnn, shown here as Beauty. Want to meet Beauty? Buy your tickets for EQUUS International, conveniently hosted this year at Sanctuary LAX. EQUUS is always in August so there’s still plenty of time to plan your trip to Los Angeles to visit us! We welcome all types of ponies and handlers, and all experience levels!
Pony Play in New Orleans
Pony play isn’t just in Los Angeles… there are ponies in the north, south, east, and west! Here are some ponies in New Orleans at the Ponies on the Delta event. We recognize several of the ponies who have played with us in the past. (I definitely saw Card Holder, who is an LA Pony who moved away; we miss you, C.H.!)
The best event to meet ponies from around the world is, of course, at EQUUS INTERNATIONAL. Hosted here in Los Angeles by the LAPCC, this is a whole weekend of events similar to those at Ponies on the Delta. Hopefully we’ll see some of the New Orleans herd in August! *WHINNY!*
Post-Pride Check-In
Hello pets, handlers, and fans!
LA Pride was wonderful thanks to the dedication and hard work of many people, most notably the LA Pound Puppies and Mistress Cyan of LAX Sanctuary Studios.
…but we still have plenty of events we are organizing or planning to attend. Check our calendar for more info; we are currently filled in through 2019 with playdates, contests, and more! Even more events may be added so be sure to check back regularly.
Upcoming events include playdates in June and July (the third Saturday of every month from 1 to 4 pm), as well as a Romp and Trot in the park in July, and, of course, EQUUS in August! We are always welcome to meeting new people, so if you’re curious, come and say hello.
Puppy News
Attention critters!
This weekend is LA Pride, and there will be a VERY LARGE leather pup contingency marching in the parade, as well as a puppy mosh at Erotic City (within the festival). The leather contingency is hosted by the incredible Mistress Cyan of LAX Sanctuary Studios. You will see her being pulled on a cart by (what else?) a human pony.
You can march for free; representation is important! No puppy mask? No puppy hood? NO WORRIES!
You can fashion your own out of a beard, if you have one. Check out this photo from the 2017 World Beard Championship. (Photo credit to Greg Anderson.)
No beard? Still no problem! Pups are welcome to come as they are. The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club will be there, along with Mutt Pack LA, the LA Pound Puppies, the Ruff Howzers, and the Nova Pack. Say a special thank-you to the LA Pound Puppies for their role in getting event space and organizing the mosh at Erotic City, and to Mistress Cyan for hosting it. It’s so wonderful to see pup play, pony play, and pet play in general grow. There are friends to be made; come to Pride to play, support, or just say hi!
