Due to current events, our amazing North American Trainer and Pony titleholders, Trainer Jenn and Tromper, are not able to attend and speak at all the events they had previously planned to. Fortunately, they are online, and if you’d like to learn about Pony Play, you can check out their educational videos on YouTube!
We will continue to bring updates about our events, online or otherwise, as things unfold. Someday we will be back in the pastures… until then, our ponies can run free in our hearts and minds.
Instead of canceling our April playdate, we will now host it online over Google Hangouts. In order to join, please respond and RSVP by providing or confirming your Gmail account. Andrew (Trainer Pollux) will start the online meeting at 12 noon on Saturday, April 18th and invite all participants who have RSVP’d. If you are not friends with us on Facebook or Yahoo, contact us directly so we can get you in contact with Andrew! This is an especially good opportunity for new or shy pets to introduce themselves. Just because we’re quarantined doesn’t mean we can’t adapt!
If you’ve never used Google Hangouts or would like to test out your connection please let us know and Andrew will contact you to help you perform a test meeting beforehand to make sure you have no trouble joining our online playdate on April 18th.

Happy National Puppy Day, everyone! Did you know March 23rd is National Puppy Day? Well, now you do!
Here in Los Angeles we are under a “shelter in place” order, so for the foreseeable future, our spring events are canceled (including the Puppy Olympics at the Off Sunset Festival, and the Spring Cart Romp). But now’s a fine time to practice at-home pupping!
In the meantime, you can find us on social media, being social! Our Facebook group is ALWAYS open and you can contact us there if you have any questions about event changes and cancellations.

We can weather this together. There is no need to panic. We are a strong community and by cooperating with each other and following the CDC’s advice on best practices, we can slow the spread and “flatten the curve.”

Last week we discussed some upcoming petplay events that are NOT attached to the LAPCC (though we do have members who attend)! This week, let’s shine a spotlight on some events we are producing and hosting ourselves!
In lieu of a traditional playdate in March, we are having our Spring Cart Pull and Romp at Mile Square Park, March 21, at Shelter #5 from 11 am to 3 PM. With current concerns about the novel coronavirus strain COVID-19, we request that you exercise best practices for hand washing, sanitizing, avoiding face-touching, and covering coughs or sneezes with your elbow or a Kleenex instead of your hand.
This event is typically a potluck, but to be safe, we recommend not sharing food. We are a small group so we think we will be fine, but if you are not feeling well, please stay home and take care of yourself!
We have reserved the shelter. You can park on the street (if available) and walk to the shelter or pay the parking fee ($5) for the reserved lot. If it rains, the event is cancelled.
Next month, we will have our biannual Spring Fox Hunt Camping April 10, Friday, 2 PM to April 12, Sunday, Noon. The Hunt is Saturday April 11 10 am to 3 PM Point Mugu Sycamore Campground. Campsite #1 and Campsite #2 are reserved. It is a short walk to the hot shower and bathroom facilities. The campsites are drive in and park, no hiking to the campsite. Let us know if you want to attend as a horse, hound, fox, rider, handler, or cheering spectator. This is the most humane version of a traditional English fox hunt!

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and accommodation last weekend. With Sin in the City canceled, our members were able to come together and make alternative plans in Las Vegas for the weekend.
The result? PONY MANSION! We had a fabulous time at a private residence playing and visiting. Just goes to show what you can accomplish when you remain positive and determined! Pictures are below.
