NAPT Titleholder Schedule Changes

Hello, friends! We hope you are staying safe amidst the current pandemic.

We can weather this together. There is no need to panic. We are a strong community and by cooperating with each other and following the CDC’s advice on best practices, we can slow the spread and “flatten the curve.”

In a widely shared graphic, a tan curve represents a scenario without social distancing measures and where the U.S. hospital system becomes inundated with coronavirus patients.

If you are in America and would like to request or offer aid, please connect with your city’s Mutual Aid Network: tinyurl .com/COVID19Aid

Speaking of America, be sure to check our our wonderful North American Pony/Trainer Titleholders! Their schedule is changing as travel becomes restricted and events are canceled. Link to their most up-to-date schedule can be found by clicking here.

Keep your spirits up. Let this friendly critter reassure you:

EVENT CANCELED: Please Read!

Hello, friends! As more information has emerged over the last week regarding coronavirus, we have decided to CANCEL our Spring Romp.

For information about the virus and how to prevent its spread, please go to the World Health Organization (WHO) or CDC websites.

This is a very good link from CRI Genetics with some great info that updates regularly.

Stay safe and remember to STAY HOME if you feel sick or have been exposed to anyone exhibiting symptoms. Wash your hands regularly, and sanitize things you touch often, such as door knobs, light switches, your phone screen, and your steering wheel. Keep following our blog for more updates about our events.

Spring LAPCC Events

Last week we discussed some upcoming petplay events that are NOT attached to the LAPCC (though we do have members who attend)! This week, let’s shine a spotlight on some events we are producing and hosting ourselves!

In lieu of a traditional playdate in March, we are having our Spring Cart Pull and Romp at Mile Square Park, March 21, at Shelter #5 from  11 am to 3 PM. With current concerns about the novel coronavirus strain COVID-19, we request that you exercise best practices for hand washing, sanitizing, avoiding face-touching, and covering coughs or sneezes with your elbow or a Kleenex instead of your hand.

This event is typically a potluck, but to be safe, we recommend not sharing food. We are a small group so we think we will be fine, but if you are not feeling well, please stay home and take care of yourself!

We have reserved the shelter. You can park on the street (if available) and walk to the shelter or pay the parking fee ($5) for the reserved lot.  If it rains, the event is cancelled.

Next month, we will have our biannual Spring Fox Hunt Camping April 10, Friday, 2 PM to April 12, Sunday, Noon. The Hunt is Saturday April 11 10 am to 3 PM Point Mugu Sycamore Campground.  Campsite #1 and Campsite #2 are reserved.  It is a short walk to the hot shower and bathroom facilities.  The campsites are drive in and park, no hiking to the campsite. Let us know if you want to attend as a horse, hound, fox, rider, handler, or cheering spectator. This is the most humane version of a traditional English fox hunt!

Stay safe, and we’ll see you there!

The title says it all! All critters (ponies, puppies, and beyond) are welcome.

Our next Play Date is Saturday February 22.

EDIT: Note that due to a rainy forecast, we have moved the location of our playdate. We typically meet ourdoors, at Kenneth Hahn Park. This week, we will be meeting at Sanctuary LAX from noon until two p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there!

#stillsinning

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and accommodation last weekend. With Sin in the City canceled, our members were able to come together and make alternative plans in Las Vegas for the weekend.

The result? PONY MANSION! We had a fabulous time at a private residence playing and visiting. Just goes to show what you can accomplish when you remain positive and determined! Pictures are below.

New Beginnings

Hello to all of our friends, family, and fans!

It’s almost the end of the Year of the Horse, and the start of the Year of the Rat.

Speaking of things ending, and beginning, are you at Sin in the City? Every year, in February, Sin in the City is held in Las Vegas, and many of us buy plane tickets and make hotel reservations very far in advance. Unfortunately, it was just announced that this convention was shut down, through no fault of their own, by the city.

Follow them on Twitter for the most recent updates concerning the contingency plans for the weekend.

If you are a pony, critter, trainer, or friend of the LAPCC, please contact us on Facebook. We are making alternative plans to ensure those who came out for Pony Play will still have space!

The International Person of Leather contest normally hosted by the venue has been relocated to Charlie’s. We hope to see you there!

Pony Games

We have worked hard to expand our petplay into as many realms as possible, from races to obedience to dressage to hunting to cart- and sled-pulling. We are always looking for new and creative ways to express ourselves. Do you have any ideas for pony games? If so, let us know. Each year we have tried something new! EQUUS is one of the best places to explore all the ways to engage in pony play, from open freestyle to more disciplined forms of expression. It’s all about having fun.
