LAPCC Holiday Party!

Every year, we enjoy a holiday party to wrap up the year.  This year, the party will be held at a private residence, on December 14th, from 1 – 5 p.m.  This is a potluck event so please bring a dish to share!  As always, we will have a hand-crafted gift exchange.  Bring a gift to participate!  To get the event address, contact us, or subscribe to our Yahoo group, where we often send out newsletter to vetted members with important information.  Click here for the Yahoo group link!

In the meantime, check out this cool video about how (bio) dogs think.  It’s very informative for owners, handlers, trainers, and pets alike!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As the year comes to a close, we’d like to thank everyone for their ongoing support for our club.  We have made so many friends and had so much fun.  We have also had the opportunity to give back; this year we raised over $1,000 to give to the No Kill Shelter of Los Angeles, the ASPCA, and Planned Parenthood.  Stay tuned for news about our December events.  We want to end this decade with a couple of fun events!

It’s Never Too Early to Start Thinking About…

Last week was L.A. Pup, a local contest for puppies.

But what about the ponies?  It’s never too early to start thinking about EQUUS, which also hosts the annual North American Pony/Trainer title contest!  If you are a pony or trainer and would like to serve your community for a year while bearing this prestigious title, why not consider running in 2020?

The application is here; click to follow to the official website link!

The judges for our leather title will be Mistress Cyan St. James, Liza BG Sibley, Jody Sibley, Rebecca Wilcox and Trixie LaFontaine.

Of course, we always welcome participants and spectators as well.  Just look at how much fun we had at our draft games last year!

L.A. Pup Pride This Weekend!

It’s early November and that means it’s time for L.A. Pup Pride weekend!

Here’s the itinerary:

On Friday, November 8th, swing by the Bullet Bar at 9 p.m. for a meet and greet with the contestants, Pups Apollo, Hunter, Orion, and Templar.  There will be a mosh and puppy go-go dancers for your entertainment.

On Saturday, enjoy a FREE panel on headspace with the SoCal Creatures at 11 a.m. at the MCC Annex, to be followed by a “PG” mosh.  Come for a day of education and fun before the contest to determine the 2020 L.A. Pup!

Later, doors open at 7 p.m. at the MCC Church for the L.A. Pup contest.  Refreshments, performances, raffles, and silent auctions will keep you busy as you watch the contest for the fifth L.A. Pup in one of the biggest pup contests in southern California.  Afterwards, the party moves to the Bullet Bar for “Pleasure and Pain” for a night of kinky pleasures.  (Cover is only $3 if you have your L.A. Pup Pride wristband!)

On Sunday, November 10th, join the winner of the contest for a victory party at Eagle L.A. at 4 p.m.

Ponies Are Clever!

Does your pony seem to know what you’re thinking?  Are they too clever for their own good?  New studies confirm that bio-horses are smarter than we realized.  They can recognize, gauge, and remember human facial expressions… and also adapt their behavior accordingly.  Described as “socially intelligent” and displaying a surprisingly breadth of “human-like behavior,” new studies have revealed more about the inner lives of horses.

Of course, us pony players always knew that ponies were clever, and that the bond between a pony and their handler is a special thing!
