Gear Spotted!

Recently we discovered something cool making the rounds on FaceBook…

Made by Costume Chaos, these are some really cool-looking paws and hooves!  But remember, you don’t need expensive gear or fancy shoes to be a pony or critter.  Being a pony, puppy, or other critter comes from the heart!  Still, you have to admit, those are some REALLY neat shoes!

The Pony Who Started It All!

The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club has been around for close to a decade (we were covered in LA Weekly back in 2010!) and our success wouldn’t have been possible without subMissAnn, shown here as Beauty.  Want to meet Beauty?  Buy your tickets for EQUUS International, conveniently hosted this year at Sanctuary LAX.  EQUUS is always in August so there’s still plenty of time to plan your trip to Los Angeles to visit us!  We welcome all types of ponies and handlers, and all experience levels!

Pony Play in New Orleans

Pony play isn’t just in Los Angeles… there are ponies in the north, south, east, and west! Here are some ponies in New Orleans at the Ponies on the Delta event. We recognize several of the ponies who have played with us in the past. (I definitely saw Card Holder, who is an LA Pony who moved away; we miss you, C.H.!)

The best event to meet ponies from around the world is, of course, at EQUUS INTERNATIONAL.  Hosted here in Los Angeles by the LAPCC, this is a whole weekend of events similar to those at Ponies on the Delta.  Hopefully we’ll see some of the New Orleans herd in August!  *WHINNY!*

Post-Pride Check-In

Hello pets, handlers, and fans!

LA Pride was wonderful thanks to the dedication and hard work of many people, most notably the LA Pound Puppies and Mistress Cyan of LAX Sanctuary Studios.

Read more here!

We may be tired out…

…but we still have plenty of events we are organizing or planning to attend.   Check our calendar for more info; we are currently filled in through 2019 with playdates, contests, and more!  Even more events may be added so be sure to check back regularly.

Upcoming events include playdates in June and July (the third Saturday of every month from 1 to 4 pm), as well as a Romp and Trot in the park in July, and, of course, EQUUS in August!  We are always welcome to meeting new people, so if you’re curious, come and say hello.

Puppy News

Attention critters!

This weekend is LA Pride, and there will be a VERY LARGE leather pup contingency marching in the parade, as well as a puppy mosh at Erotic City (within the festival).  The leather contingency is hosted by the incredible Mistress Cyan of LAX Sanctuary Studios.  You will see her being pulled on a cart by (what else?) a human pony.

You can march for free; representation is important!  No puppy mask?  No puppy hood?  NO WORRIES!

You can fashion your own out of a beard, if you have one.  Check out this photo from the 2017 World Beard Championship.  (Photo credit to Greg Anderson.)

No beard?  Still no problem!  Pups are welcome to come as they are.  The Los Angeles Pony and Critter Club will be there, along with Mutt Pack LA, the LA Pound Puppies, the Ruff Howzers, and the Nova Pack.  Say a special thank-you to the LA Pound Puppies for their role in getting event space and organizing the mosh at Erotic City, and to Mistress Cyan for hosting it.  It’s so wonderful to see pup play, pony play, and pet play in general grow.  There are friends to be made; come to Pride to play, support, or just say hi!

Giving Back to the Community

Although many of our events are free or are a part of a larger convention, two of our events, Puppy Palooza (in January) and Derby Day (in May) ask for a $10 contribution to attend.  This money is donated to the Los Angeles No-Killer shelters, where bio-pets are waiting to be adopted.  Many members of our club have adopted bio-pets and we are happy to be able to contribute to the ongoing care and shelter of the animals of Los Angeles.

This year our Derby Day raised $175!  Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated.  Missed it this year?  Never fear; Derby Day is always held on the first Saturday in May, the same day as the Kentucky Derby.

Meta Horse

We here at the LA Pony and Critter club love to celebrate diversity.  That’s why we encourage people of any gender, sexuality, race, religion, or age (above 18 of course) to come and join us.

Bio-horses, bio-puppies, and other bio-animals come in all shapes and sizes, and so do we!

Look at this fantastic specimen of a horse.  HE HAS ANOTHER HORSE ON HIM!

Amazing!  Do you have any cool gear or tricks that make you unique?  If so, we’d love to see!  Ask today about attending one of our playdates!
